Porto star open to Chelsea move

The agent of Porto full-back Alvaro Pereira has welcomed Chelsea interest in his client.

The Blues are reportedly eager to bring the Uruguayan defender to Stamford Bridge, with coach Andre Villas-Boas keen admirer of the player.

Chelsea have been unable to agree a transfer fee with Porto over the summer, but they could launch a new assault in January.

“I have read the news about Chelsea’s interest, but I am not going to say anything about it at the moment,” Pereira’s representative Alejandro Savich told Maisfutebol.

“Alvaro Pereira recently renewed his contract until 2016, so he has a contract with Porto, but there is a release clause.

“We are going to have to wait a little bit, we will see what could happen in the future.”
