Portugal powerhouse FC Porto are hot on the trail of the Democratic Republic of Congo youngster Meschak Elia.
According to Portuguese media outlet Abola, the 19-year-old forward is the summer transfer target for Porto, who have been scouting the Congo starlet for months now.
Former Benfica striker and now the ambassador of football for the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ariza Makukula, has revealed that the Dragons have contacted his asking for Meschak Elia’s quality, claiming that Porto are highly interested in acquiring the services of this highly talented striker.
Elia is aware of Porto’s interest and the Portuguese club is expected to make concrete steps towards the realisation of the transfer from TP Mazembe in coming months.
Winner of the 2016 African Nations Championship held in Rwanda, Meschak Elia was voted the best player of the competition.
Elia was also the joint top scorer of the tournament with four goals to his name, while he also picked up the Man of the match award in the final match against Mali.
