Portuguese giants FC Porto have no choice but to sell star defender Alex Sandro this summer, O Jogo can reveal.

Right-back Danilo Luiz da Silva has already left the Dragons to join Real Madrid and everything suggests the left-back will be leaving as well.

Namely, Alex Sandro has informed the club chiefs that he will not be extending his current contract and with just a year left to run on his deal, Porto have to sell him this summer or risk losing him on a free transfer.

A number of Europe’s top sides are likely to be alerted by the latest developments, with the Brazilian held in high regard across Europe.

Alex Sandro, 24, joined Porto from Santos four years ago and went on to make 86 league appearances, scoring 3 goals.

He has so far earned 6 Brazil caps, but was overlooked by coach Carlos Dunga for the 2015 Copa America.
