Porto to sign Alberto Bueno
Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo has suggested that FC Porto have all but agreed to sign Spanish striker Alberto Bueno from Rayo Vallecano.
The Dragons were on the lookout for a new centre forward as they prepare for life without Jackson Martinez and they seem to have found their man in the La Liga star.
According to O Jogo, the 27-year-old has agreed a long-term deal with Porto and he will join his new club when his current deal expires at the end of the season.
The Dragons boss Julen Lopetegui is well aware of the forward’s qualities having coached him at Real Madrid Castilla and he has been impressed with Bueno’s form this season.
The talented footballer has scored 16 goals in 28 La Liga outings this term despite playing for a relegation-threatened side.
Bueno, who had also made three league appearances for Real Madrid, represented Spain at various youth levels, but he has yet to play for the senior national team.
Italian giants vying for Vitolo
Estadio Deportivo is reporting that a number of Italy’s top sides are keeping close tabs on Sevilla winger Vitolo Machin Perez.
The 25-year-old has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last couple of years, with a move to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan proving a great decision.
Vitolo quickly developed into an important player at Sevilla, lifting the Europa League trophy last season before recently earning his first Spain cap.
Napoli were the first high-profile club to express their interest in the highly rated footballer, but Sampdoria and AC Milan have reportedly joined the race as well.
Vitolo has been in fine form this season, notching 9 goals in 33 competitive outings, starting 22 La Liga matches in the process.
Sevilla host Zenit in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals and los Rojiblancos are available at 4/5 to emerge victorious.
St Etienne keen on Ben Yedder
Ligue 1 high-flyers Saint Etienne are hot on the trail of Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder, according to Le 10 Sport.
Les Verts have done fairly well this season on all fronts, but while the team boast second-best defensive record in Ligue 1, their attacking problems are well-documented.
As a result, Saint Etienne are desperate to sign a proven goalscorer in the summer transfer window, especially since Ricky van Wolfswinkel will not be staying beyond the current season.
Le 10 Sport has suggested that les Verts are readying summer bid for Wissam Ben Yedder, the player who has been scoring for Toulouse on regular basis for almost three years now.
The 24-year-old has a long list of suitors among Europe’s top clubs, but Saint Etienne could be the first to make concrete moves.
Ben Yedder has bagged 15 and 16 league goals in the previous two seasons respectively and is currently at 11 this term.
