FC Porto are expected to turn Raul Gudino’s loan move into permanent deal, according to O Jogo.
The Dragons recruited the youngster on a season-long loan from Chivas Guadalahara with an option to buy in August 2014.
And while the 18-year-old was expected to feature for the youth side, he quickly proved his worth at Estadio do Dragao and went on to nail down a regular starting berth in the reserve side that compete in Portugal’s second tier.
As a result, both Julen Lopetegui and reserve team coach Luis Castro have been impressed with the Mexican, meaning the Dragons are almost certain to exercise the buy-out clause in the coming months.
While playing for Porto in the UEFA Youth League, Gudino has made nine appearances for Porto B, keeping two clean sheets in the process.
The youngster is widely expected to be Mexico’s first choice keeper at this year’s Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
