(GSM) – Portsmouth coach Avram Grant is set to be named the new West Ham United boss, according to the Daily Mail. The paper claims the Israeli has agreed a three-year-contract with the Hammers.

West Ham, looking for a quick appointment after sacking Gianfranco Zola, were given permission to talk to Grant by Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou.

However, reports suggest the former Chelsea boss isn’t the only candidate for the job. Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce, Blackpool’s Ian Holloway and Cardiff City gaffer Dave jones are all linked with a move to the London club.

Any deal for Grant could be complicated by issues around compensation, but with the having gone unpaid for several months due to Pompey’s financial plight, he believes he will be free to leave Fratton Park without a fee being paid.
