Portsmouth look to raid Chelsea for young star

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has already been linked with moves for Chelsea duo Shaun Wright-Phillips and Wayne Bridge recently, and now the Daily Mirror is claiming that Redknapp is also set to lineup a move for Chelsea starlet Ben Sahar.

Sahar could move to Fratton Park for an initial year-long loan spell with the option for Pompey to sign the player on a permanent basis after the loan move. Sahar spent spells on loan at Championship sides Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday  last season.

Sahar, 18, is known as one of Israel’s most exciting prospects and has already represented the full national side 7 times, scoring twice.

Sahar’s former youth coach at Hapoel Tel Aviv recently hailed the youngster stating: “He is suitable for Europe because he knows how to achieve the goals he sets himself and he is an exceptionally talented player. He is fast and has fantastic physical ability, he scores 30-40 goals a season and his ball skills are something you dont see here everyday.”
