Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul is set to join Portsmouth on Monday after agreeing personal terms with the FA Cup winners.
Kaboul will make the move for a transfer fee of around five million pounds if he passes a medical on Monday.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has been chasing Kaboul for several weeks and appears to have beaten Aston Villa and Sunderland to the French centre-back’s signature.
The 22-year-old was told he could leave White Hart Lane after suffering a disappointing debut season in the Premier League.
“On Monday Younes Kaboul will be at the club for a medical,” a Portsmouth spokesman said after the team’s Community Shield defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.
“After long discussions we agreed personal terms on Friday and if all goes well he will sign on Monday.”
