Portsmouth want Patrick Vieira

Portsmouth chairman Peter Storrie has confirmed that Patrick Vieira remains a transfer target for the club, but admits the Frenchman is unlikely to join during the January transfer window. Juventus’ Danish international Christian Poulsen has been touted, while a move for Valencia’s former Arsenal star Edu collapsed after the two clubs failed to reach an agreement.

“Patrick is someone we would be very keen to bring here,” he said. “Obviously he is very well-known to Tony Adams, but my understanding is he has got an injury and that won’t be possible in this window.”
