FC Porto have won the top clash with Sporting Lisbon and move into first place in the Portuguese Liga Sagres.
The top spot in the league was at stake as the two giants faced each other in the country’s capital city.
Lisandro Lopez allowed the away fans to cheer in the 18th minute, but Joao Moutinho equalised ten minutes later.
The decider came another three minutes later though, as Bruno Alves netted Porto’s second. Sporting never managed to level again and allowed their rivals to walk away with the points.
Porto have earned eleven points from their first five games, enough to lead ahead of Nacional Funchal and Estrela Amadora. Sporting share the fourth place with Leixoes.
