(GSM) – Porto stunned arch rivals Benfica 5-0 to extend their lead in the Portuguese top flight.

Benfica were no match for Porto, who were particularly inspired by their South American stars Radamel Falcao and Hulk.

Portuguese forward Silvestre Varela scored the opening goal after 12 minutes at O Dragao stadium, and Colombian Falcao doubled the gap in the 25th.

Falcao went on to add another in the 29th minute, and Benfica knew that a come-back was highly unlikely when Brazilian defender Luisao was sent off inthe 68th.

Two late goals from Hulk, of which one from the penalty spot, set the final score to 5-0.

Porto are now ten points ahead of second-placed Benfica. Nacional follow at another two points.
