Portugal: Porto too strong for Portimonense

(GSM) – Porto successfully defended their lead in the Portuguese league with a 2-0 victory over Portimonense on Sunday.

Porto hosted Portimonense at O Dragao stadium, where Walter scored the opening goal in the 29th minute. Brazilian striker Hulk added a second from the penalty spot in the final minute of regular time for a 2-0 result.

Benfica played a home match against Naval 1º de Maio, and took the lead through Alan Kardec in the 10th minute.

Nicolas Gaitan added goals in the 47th and 62nd minutes and Nuno Gomes made it 4-0 in the 89th.

Benfica remain at ten points from leaders Porto, and share their second spot with Vitoria Guimaraes.
