Academica de Coimbra forward Antonio Xavier, also known as Xavi, is being linked with a big club move, A Bola can reveal.
The 17-year-old has yet to be handed his debut at senior level, but his excellent displays for club’s youth sides did not go unnoticed.
According to A Bola, Portuguese giants Benfica, FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon are all showing interest, with the Eagles reportedly leading the chase.
The likes of Manchester United and Barcelona are also keeping close tabs on the talented footballer, but chances are Xavi will remain in Portugal even if he decides to leave Academica.
The youngster has been in very good scoring form this season and Benfica scouts have closely monitored his latest performances.
It is believed that Benfica will attempt to recruit Xavi in the January transfer window, although it remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement over the transfer fee with their league rivals.
