Portuguese daily Record understands that Besiktas are closing in on Maritimo defender Ruben Ferreira.

The talented footballer has enjoyed his best season up to date last term, which has in turn seen his name linked with a number of high-profile clubs.

Turkish giants Besiktas were the first interested side to submit an official proposal for the player’s services, offering around €2 million.

Record has learned that Maritimo chiefs are seriously studying the proposal and everything suggests they will allow their star players to join the Black Eagles.

The 23-year-old, who has been a regular starter for Portugal Under-21 side in the 2013 European Championship qualifiers, is believed to be tempted by the lucrative proposal from Turkish Super Lig.

Ruben Ferreira has spent his entire career at Maritimo, making a total of 42 Primeira Liga appearances and scoring 1 in the process. He has also appeared in 6 Europa League games during the 2012/2013 campaign.
