On Monday, Emile Heskey announced he was ready to quit his club Aston Villa to ensure his place in England World Cup squad. A return to his former club Liverpool in January could be the right move for the powerful striker.
To keep his place in the national starting line-up alongside Wayne Rooney, Heskey knows he has to start regularly for his club.
The 31-year-old has started just one Premier League match this season with Villa boss Martin O’Neill generally preferring Norway`s John Carew alongside Gabriel Agbonlahor.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez considers Heskey as an ideal target man to join Fernando Torres in the Reds attack.
The Spanish manager hopes he can sign the English international for the cut price of € 1,6 million when the transfer window opens again in January.
