Portuguese striker Helder Postiga has moved to confirm reports linking him with a move to Valencia.
Los Che has singled out the Portugal international as the man to replace Roberto Soldado, who is set to complete a move to Tottenham.
After Zaragoza accepted a €3 million offer from Valencia, the player has agreed a two-year deal with an option for another season.
The transfer is expected to be wrapped up as soon as Soldado is officially unveiled as Tottenham player, with Postiga admitting a move to Mestalla was on the horizon.
“I am excited about the opportunity to play at Valencia next season and hope that everything will be resolved as soon as possible,” the 30-year-old explained to Superdeporte.
Postiga will have some big shoes to fill at Mestalla, with Soldado having scored no less than 59 league goals over the last three seasons.
Meanwhile, the Portugal international has spent last two years at Real Zaragoza, netting 23 times in 70 league fixtures.
He has, nonetheless, been in fine form in the 2014 World Cup qualifier, managing 5 goals in 7 matches for Portugal.
