Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen has rejected the possibility of returning to Liverpool at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old expressed his desire to leave the Reds in search of first team football in the summer and was eventually farmed out on loan to Ligue 1 side Evian.
His one-year loan with the French minnows is set to expire in May, but the Dane says he doesn’t want to return to Liverpool.
The experienced midfielder believes that he would be better off staying in France after the season ends.
“From the start I stated I would finish the season here. Nowadays I say I could remain after the summer,” Poulsen told L’Equipe.
“Moreover, I have three children. It is difficult for them to change city all the time.
“Liverpool? It is over for me there. If I was a 25-year-old it could be different, but I will be 32 and I am not interested in being a number 20 player.”
Poulsen arrived to Liverpool in August 2010 from Juventus, with the Reds paying €5.5 million for his services.
However, he never quite managed to earn a regular starting place and amassed just 12 Premier League appearances in his first season at Anfield.
The Dane completed his loan move to Evian on transfer deadline day last summer, and it looks as though he will be staying at Parc des Sports.
