(GSM) – Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has committed to the Florence club insisting that he will remain at the club next season.
The longest serving coach in Serie A, who joined Fiorentina in the summer of 2005, has been speculated to be the number one candidate to replace Marcello Lippi at the helm of Italy after the World Cup.
This is despite a slump in form for Fiorentina which means they are almost certain to miss out on European football next season. They lost 2-1 at Atalanta at the weekend and have won only one of their last six fixtures.
“Of course, the prospect of coaching the national team would be an honour for any coach,” said Prandelli.
“But to speak of this at this time is useless. I will certainly remain here at Fiorentina next season.”
