Bolton Wanderers midfielder Darren Pratley wants to repay Owen Coyle by replicating his Swansea City scoring form during their promotion season.
Last term, Pratley netted 12 times which helped guide Swansea into the Premier League via the Championship playoffs.
The 26-year-old is pleased to have worked his way into Coyle’s side following his move and is targeting a more influential role at the Reebok Stadium.
“Coming to a new club, you have to work your way into the team. Obviously results haven’t gone our way, but I’m happy to have played in recent weeks,” he told the club’s official website.
“Hopefully now we can start picking up points. I’m getting a run of games in the Premier League and I have to try my best to keep hold of the shirt.”
“At Swansea I used to get goals and hopefully I can repeat that here. If you can score from midfield it is an extra facet and if you look at modern day football you have to be able to score from every position.”
“Personally it has been so far so good. I’ve played in different formations and different systems and I’m adapting all the time.”
