The Premier League is back once again in the wake of the international break with all 20 clubs wanting to come flying out of the blocks as we venture into the second month of the season. There are plenty of intriguing fixtures taking place over the weekend from the stacked Saturday 3pm line-up to the TV games, with one of the most fascinating being the relegation six-pointer between Arsenal and Norwich City at the Emirates tomorrow.
Arsenal
The pressure is well and truly on for Mikel Arteta with some suggesting he could be sacked if he can’t secure a win over fellow bottom three club Norwich on Saturday. They’ve certainly got the players within their squad to ease to victory but right now, it all seems to be about their lack of confidence. Arteta has hardly been able to serve as the motivational leader many were hoping he’d be but in this moment, it really is do or die for the Spaniard.
Team News
Gabriel and White are both expected to be fit expected to be fit enough to return with Kolasinac out through injury. Xhaka is currently suspended with Smith Rowe suffering from an illness, meanwhile Partey and Elneny are also listed as doubts.
Norwich
The belief was that Norwich City, upon returning to the Premier League, would be more of a force to be reckoned with than they were the last time around. As it turns out that simply isn’t the case (just yet, anyway) with Farke’s men struggling to really get a foothold in any of their PL games thus far. In all fairness they have suffered from a gruelling schedule of playing Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester, but they should be backing themselves to try and come away with at least a point here.
Team News
Placheta is struggling from the effects of COVID-19 with Byram and Mumba already being ruled out. Elsewhere, Tzolis is a fitness concern with Rupp pushing for a start in the middle of the park.
Factors to Consider
- Arsenal and Norwich are both situated in the bottom three of the Premier League table.
- Arsenal have won one and lost three of their games this season, with the win coming in the League Cup.
- Norwich have won one and lost three of their games this season, with the win coming in the League Cup.
- Arsenal have scored six goals and conceded nine in their first four games.
- Norwich have scored seven goals and conceded 10 in their first four games.
Conclusion
It’s been quite the journey for Arsenal so far this season and while many want to see AFTV go into a state of complete meltdown, we just don’t think they’re going to let it slip here. Norwich still have a lot of work to do, especially at the back, whereas the Gunners are just waiting to burst into life with a strong attacking performance – which is exactly what we’re expecting to see in a solid 3-1 win tomorrow.
