Bayern Munich and Freiburg will lock horns with each other in the Bundesliga next weekend. The match between Vincent Kompany’s side and Julian Schuster’s team will be held at Allianz Arena and is scheduled to kick off at 4:30 pm UK time next Sunday.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are the biggest, most successful and most-well club in Germany and will be determined to win major trophies this season. Bayern failed to win the Bundesliga title last season and could not do much of note in the UEFA Champions League either.

Under former Burnley manager Vincent Kompany this season, Bayern have embarked on a campaign they want to make memorable. Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund will provide stiff competition for the Bavarian giants, but the fans of Stern des Südens will be optimistic of the team doing great things.

Bayern Munich will head into the Bundesliga match against Freiburg at the Allianz Arena next weekend on the back of a 3-2 victory over VfL Wolfsburg away from home in the league. It came after a 4-0 victory over Grasshoppers in Munich in a pre-season friendly game which followed a 4-0 hammering of SSV Ulm 1846 on the road in the German DFB Pokal.

Team News:

Bayern Munich are likely to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Freiburg. Manuel Neuer will be in goal for the Bavarian giants and will have Sacha Boey, Kim Min-Jae, Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies in front of him in defence. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic will be the two holding midfielders. Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry will be the three attacking midfielders. Harry Kane will lead the line for Bayern.

Freiburg

Freiburg are a modest club in Germany who are happy to be just present in the Bundesliga. No one expects them to challenge for the title or even compete for the European places. Last season, Breisgau-Brasilianer ended up 10th in the league table.

Julian Schuster’s side have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far. Hugo Siquet has returned from a loan spell at Cercie Brugge, while Patrick Osterhage, Eren Dinkci, Jannik Huth and Maximilian Philipp have made the move to Europa-Park Stadion.

Freiburg will head into the Bundesliga match against Bayern Munich away from home at the Allianz Arena in Munich next weekend on the back of a 3-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart at home in the league. It came after a 4-0 victory over VfL Osnabruck on the road in the German DFB Pokal which followed a 2-0 win against Italian club Fiorentina in a pre-season friendly game.

Team News:

Freiburg are likely to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Bayern Munich. Florian Müller will be in goal for the visiting team and will have Lukas Kübler, Max Rosenfelder, Philipp Lienhart and Christian Günter in front of him in defence. Maximilian Eggestein and Patrick Osterhage will be the two holding midfielders. Ritsu Doan, Merlin Rohl and Vincenzo Grifo will be the three attacking midfielders. Chukwubuike Adamu will lead the line for Freiburg.

Key Factors to Consider

Against VfB Stuttgart, Freiburg had 32.6% of the possession.

Against VfB Stuttgart, Freiburg took 16 shots of which six were on target.

Against VfL Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich had 70.9% of the possession.

Against VfL Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich took 15 shots of which 8 were on target.

Against VfL Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer did not have to make any saves.

Conclusion

While it is only the beginning of the new season and Freiburg have a good team, it is hard to see anything but a convincing victory for Bayern Munich. Bayern have the better team and should be able to pick up all three points from the Bundesliga match at the Allianz Arena without any problem.
