We’ve already seen some great action in the Premier League this weekend, and there’s still plenty more where that came from. We all know that the top flight produces high level games on a week to week basis, and as such, we’re ready to see some fairly unusual and remarkable things on a regular basis. We think that’s also going to be the case later today, as Cardiff City prepare to try and overcome the odds against a Chelsea side that are in need of a morale boosting victory.

The one thing that you simply cannot deny is the heart of Cardiff City Football Club. From the start of the season fans have been saying that they don’t have a team capable of competing at the highest level, and in some aspects, that’s true. However, that hasn’t stopped them from scratching and clawing their way through a series of tough games, to the point where they’re still very much in with a shout of survival. Of course, they’re the underdogs in that race, but they aren’t going to give up without a fight.

Chelsea

It seems obvious to suggest that Maurizio Sarri will do well to keep his job this summer, but it’s hard not to focus on that as one of the key points heading into the last few games of the season. Chelsea have an exceptionally talented squad at their disposal, but there just seems to have been a real disconnect between the manager and the fans in the last few months. There’s always the possibility of him pulling a rabbit out of the hat in the Europa League & top four race, but we aren’t convinced.

Hudson-Odoi isn’t expected to break into the first team despite his recent performances for England, with Pedro being tipped to start ahead of Willian.

Conclusion

The beauty of Premier League football is that you rarely know what’s going to happen as a definitive fact, but in this instance, we’re pretty confident in saying that the Blues will come away with all three points in this one. They may have had some issues as of late, but we can’t see a scenario in which Cardiff give them too many substantial problems. We think it’s still going to be a narrow win as the home side are battling for their lives right now, but it isn’t going to be enough.
