When it comes to momentum, these two teams couldn’t be further away from each other. While the Terriers did manage to pick up a point against champions Manchester City, they would’ve hoped to have been much further away from the relegation battle than they currently are – whereas Chelsea have done really well to salvage what looked set to be a disastrous season.

Chelsea

The Blues have one eye on Huddersfield and one eye on the FA Cup final, but one thing is for sure, they can’t afford to take the Terriers lightly. A victory would ensure that they take the race for 4th to the final day, but anything else could open the door for Tottenham Hotspur to confirm their spot in the UEFA Champions League with a victory over Newcastle United.

Team News

Andreas Christensen, Davide Zappacosta, Pedro, Willian and Alvaro Morata are all expected to return.

Huddersfield

With Southampton playing Swansea City, Huddersfield Town know that their fate rests in their own hands. Unfortunately, their last two games are against Chelsea and Arsenal, meaning that they’ll have to dig deep if they’re going to secure the points necessary for survival. With that being said, if they can pull it off, their future looks incredibly bright given their infrastructure.

Team News

Tom Ince is back whereas Chris Löwe and Terence Kongolo are doubts.

Factors to Consider

  • Chelsea have lost just one of their last 14 games against Huddersfield, dating back to 1967.
  • Huddersfield have won just once in their last eight games.
  • This will be Chelsea’s 500th home Premier League game.
  • The Blues have won their last five games in all competitions.
  • Huddersfield are the joint-lowest scorers in the league alongside Swansea City.

Conclusion

Huddersfield’s fate will be in their own hands regardless of what happens in this one, and Chelsea still have a lot to play for. The Blues should take this quite comfortably – we’ll go for 3-0 to the home side.

Prediction: Chelsea win
