The Premier League returns to our screens this weekend with a whole host of exciting fixtures littered throughout English football’s top flight. We’re into the final 12-game stretch of the campaign and while that may sound like a lot, there are plenty of matches to catch up with following the winter break. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between Crystal Palace and Manchester City.
Crystal Palace
The big concern for Crystal Palace fans right now is that they could, once again, slip down into yet another relegation battle. They’ve spent most of the season away from danger but following a poor string of results, they can no longer realistically call themselves a ‘mid-table’ team. Instead, the Eagles have been left to look over their shoulder at every turn, and that’ll continue to be the case regardless of what happens in this one.

Doucoure is suspended after being sent off against Villa with Johnstone and Ferguson both being injured.
Manchester City
Pep Guardiola has never been the kind of man to roll over and give up. The campaign has been a tricky one up to this point, at least by City’s standards, and his big hope will be that things turn around sooner rather than later. They are still firmly fixed in the Premier League title race but with the Gunners pulling magical results out of thin air, you do wonder whether this just isn’t City’s year (for once).

Foden is the only fitness concern here after his foot injury started bothering him again against Newcastle.
Factors to Consider
- In their last meeting back in August, City beat Palace 4-2.
- Palace have drawn four and lost two of their last six games.
- City have won four and drawn two of their last six games.
- Palace have scored three goals and conceded five in their last six games.
- City have scored 14 goals and conceded four in their last six games.
Conclusion
The big problem for Palace lately has been their ability to strike while the iron is hot in the final third – both home and away. That attacking intent was certainly present when Vieira first arrived but it no longer appears to be present. On the flip side, City are hunting down Arsenal like bloodhounds, which is why we’re backing them to edge out an entertaining 2-1 win at Selhurst on Saturday.
