Fulham and Leeds United will face each other at Craven Cottage in London in the fifth round of the FA Cup this week. The match between the Cottagers and the West Yorkshire club will be held on Tuesday evening and is scheduled to kick off at 7:45pm UK time on Tuesday.

Fulham

Fulham won promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of last season. Marco Silva’s won the second division title with ease, picking up 90 points from 46 matches. The Cottagers were expected by many to struggle in the Premier League this season, but they have proved all their detractors wrong.

The Cottagers are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 39 points from 25 matches. Fulham are only six points behind fourth-placed and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The London club are above the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in the Premier League table.

Fulham are doing well in the FA Cup as well. Although the Cottagers  were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland at Craven Cottage in the fifth round of the FA Cup, they beat the Championship club 3-2 at the Stadium of Light in the replay.

Team News:

Fulham will have star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic available for the match against Leeds United.

Leeds United

Leeds United managed to stay in the Premier League only just at the end of last season, and things are looking to be equally bad this time around. The West Yorkshire club ended last season as low as 7th in the Premier League table with 38 points from 28 matches, just three points above the relegation zone.

Jesse Marsch was hailed as the saviour for making sure that lLeeds stayed up in the Premier League, but the American was recently sacked as the head coach of the Whites following a run of poor matches. Javi Gracia was appointed the new head coach Leeds, and the Spaniard won his first game in charge at the weekend, getting the better of fellow relegation candidates Southampton.

Leeds are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 22 points from 24 matches, just a point above the relegation zone. The Whites beat Accrington Stanley 3-1 away from home in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Team News:

Pascal Struijk (concussion) and Liam Cooper are likely to be ready for Saturday’s match at Chelsea, but they will not be risked at Craven Cottage for the FA Cup tie against Fulham.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Fulham have scored 36 goals in 25 Premier League matches so far this season.
  • Fulham have conceded 31 goals in 25 Premier League matches so far this season.
  • Leeds United have scored 29 goals 24 Premier League games so far this campaign.
  • Leeds United have conceded 39 goals in 24 Premier League games so far this season.
  • Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored 11 goals in the Premier League for Fulham.

Conclusion

Fulham are in top form at the moment and are extremely confident. Now, while Leeds have a new manager in charge, they are unlikely to be too bothered about the FA Cup because staying in the Premier League is their main priority. The Cottagers are also at home, and it is very likely that they will win the tie against Leeds.

Prediction: Fulham to win 2-1
