Fulham

Fulham won automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of last season, and many expected the London club to get relegated from the Premier League. However, manager Marco Silva has surprised everyone, and the Cottagers are now likely to end up in the top half of the league table.this season.

The Cottagers are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 45 points from 31 matches. Fulham are eight points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and are above the likes of Chelsea, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the standings.

Fulham got the better of relegation-threatened Leeds United 2-1 at Elland Road in the Premier League this past weekend. It came after a 3-1 victory over Everton away from home at Goodison Park and followed a 1-0 defeat to West Ham United in the London derby. The Cottagers will face Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

Team News:

Aleksandar Mitrovic remains on the sidelines. The striker is still serving an eight-match suspension. Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno will be in goal. Daniel James, on loan from Leeds United, should start for Marco Silva’s side. Willian will also start for Fulham.

Manchester City

Manchester City are starting to get into form now and look set to push Arsenal all the way for the Premier League title this season. The defending champions are second in the league table at the moment with 70 points from 30 matches. Pep Guardiola’s side are five points behind leaders Arsenal, who have played 32 games.

City, who are the defending Premier League champions, have won 11 out of their last 12 competitive matches. The Citizens got the better of Sheffield United 3-0 in the semi-finals of the FA Cup after getting past Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. City’s last Premier League game ended in a 3-1 victory over former champions Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium in the league.

The Citizens will take on Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday evening. While a defeat will make it tough for City, a win will enhance their chances of winning the title yet again this season.

Team News:

Nathan Ake did not play for Manchester City against Sheffield United in the semi-finals of the FA Cup last weekend because of a hamstring issue. England international midfielder Phil Foden is back after recovering from a injury and could start.
