The Premier League returns once again this week for a handful of evening fixtures in the days ahead. We may have just gotten the last batch of games over and done with, but there are some teams that have some catching up to do in terms of how many games they’ve played. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the latest relegation six-pointer to hit out screens as Leeds United lock horns with Nottingham Forest.

Leeds

The threat of relegation is regularly looming large for this Leeds United team. However, with Jesse Marsch gone, it certainly feels like they’re playing with more of an attacking threat than they have done in a while. This is the kind of side that refuses to die and in turn, that makes them dangerous against just about anyone in the league. Of course, it can also leave them a bit vulnerable at the back.

Team News

Gnonto, Wober, Dallas, Adams and Forshaw are all confirmed to be out through injury for this one.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest started off this season as one of the clear favourites for the drop. While some may still have them in that kind of spot, the majority of pundits have praised their ability to somewhat turn things around. They’ve certainly taken a lot of risks across the last few transfer windows, but Steve Cooper has a philosophy that he believes in – and he’s going to make sure he sees it through to the end.

Team News

Aurier and Scarpa are fitness concerns here with McKenna, Wood, Richards, Biancone, Henderson, Boly and Yates all being injured.

Factors to Consider

  • In their last meeting back in February, Forest beat Leeds 1-0.
  • Leeds have won two, drawn one and lost three of their last six games.
  • Forest have drawn three and lost three of their last six games.
  • Leeds have scored eight goals and conceded 11 in their last six games.
  • Forest have scored six goals and conceded 13 in their last six games.

Conclusion

This is going to be a physical, end to end kind of encounter and we suspect the referee will do a pretty good job if he manages to keep on top of things. Forest seem to be the ones who have the better squad but Leeds, as we know, aren’t the kind of side who will give up without a fight. The visitors may be the ones to take the lead but eventually, we’ll be left with a thrilling, high-scoring draw in Yorkshire.

Prediction: Draw
