The Premier League returns this weekend with a series of entertaining games for us to sample, with one of the most important going down at the King Power Stadium. Leicester City will be taking on Arsenal, in a game that could decide a lot of things for both clubs. The Foxes are currently in the hunt for seventh place, whereas Arsenal are on the verge of missing out on a place in the top four. The stakes couldn’t really be too much higher for these teams, and we’re pretty intrigued to see how it all unfolds.

Leicester

Under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, Leicester have actually been able to give themselves a legitimate shot at qualifying for the Europa League – which probably seemed impossible at the start of the season. There’s so much heart and determination in this squad that it’s kind of hard to believe how far they’ve come in the last few months. They’ve had a campaign marred by tragedy but even in the wake of that, they’ve been able to come out of the other side with a reason to be hopeful.

Team News

Daniel Amartey is the only major injury concern for Leicester, as Wes Morgan is expected to return despite missing the game against West Ham.

Arsenal

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy for Arsenal, and they’ve also been very inconsistent. Unai Emery has had a solid first season at the helm at the Emirates, but there’s still so much further for him to go and so much room left for him to grow as a manager. That’s the exciting part for Gunners fans, but the part that’s a little bit worrying is the Premier League table. They’re on the outside of the top four race looking in, and they desperately need to register a win here.

Team News

Arsenal are set to have a series of absences for the clash against Leicester in the form of Holding, Welbeck, Bellerin, Ramsey and Denis Suarez.

Factors to Consider

  • In their last meeting back in October, Arsenal beat Leicester 3-1.
  • Leicester have won four, drawn one and lost one of their last six games.
  • Arsenal have won three and lost three of their last six games.
  • Leicester have scored 13 goals and conceded six in their last six games.
  • Arsenal have scored seven goals and conceded seven in their last six games.

Conclusion

Arsenal haven’t had the best of form when it comes to being away from home, and this game may have come at the worst possible time with the Valencia tie being right around the corner. However, we’ve seen them sneak a few results here and there throughout the course of the season, and that’s what we’re expecting to see once again here. The Gunners will score early on and hold onto their advantage for dear life, in a similar manner to the win they were able to get against Watford a few weeks back.

Prediction: Arsenal win

Best Odds: 13/8
