Our Monday night football comes from the King Power Stadium as Leicester will be playing host to a struggling West Bromwich Albion side who make the short journey east. Neither side have won any of their last five outings so both teams will know the importance of picking up three vital points.

Leicester

Despite a string of impressive performances, it has been a roller coaster start to the season for the Foxes. So far this season Leicester have only picked up five points out of a possible 21 and currently sit 18th in the league and more worryingly, they’re two points off Premier League safety.

On a brighter note, Leicester will be looking at their previous fixtures and know that things can only get better for the 2016 Premier League champions. Already this season, Craig Shakespeare’s side have faced Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Despite only picking up a single win in their last 10 matches, Leicester do have a positive record when playing at the King Power, when playing sides outside of the top seven, the Foxes’ are unbeaten in their previous seven appearances, winning six and drawing one, five of them matches also saw Leicester finish with a clean sheet.

Team News

Leicester fans will be happy to hear that starman Jamie Vardy is available after withdrawing from the England squad with a hip injury. Along with Vardy, Young left-back Ben Chilwell and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi have also overcome minor injury concerns and will be named in the squad.

Leicester will, however, be without veteran defender Robert Huth and midfielder Matty James looks set for 6 weeks on the sidelines with an achilles injury.

West Brom

Although Tony Pulis’ West Brom might be sat eight places above their opponents in 10th spot, the Baggies are a side that have really begun to struggle. After getting quick out of the blocks and picking up seven points from their opening three games of the season, West Brom have failed to win since and a 3-1 defeat to newly promoted Brighton epitomised their problems.

West Brom’s current away form isn’t exactly something that offers much confidence either, the Baggies have only managed to come away with three points just once in their last 12 away trips in the Premier League and have lost four out of their last five attempts.

If there was one ground the Baggies’ would choose to travel to tho, that ground would probably be the the King Power Stadium, in their last eight visits West Brom are still unbeaten having drawn two and won the other six, the only problem is, Tony Pulis has the worst goals to game ratio of any Premier League manager.

Team News

Joint top scorers Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon are both fit and will be included in the squad for Monday nights trip. West Brom will also be hoping that Belgium international Nacer Chadli can play some part, the playmaker will undergo a late fitness test. Along with Chadli, the Baggies’ will be hoping that midfielder James Morrison can overcome a small calf injury.

Wales international Hal Robson-Kanu will be sidelined tho after picking up an unspecified injury while on international duty.

Key Factors to Consider

  • West Brom have only picked up one win in their last 12 games away from home
  • Albion have only scored 10 goals in 16 league games since the start of April
  • Leicester have gone eight home games without a win against West Brom in all competitions, drawing two and losing six
  • Leicester have won four of their last five Premier League home games on a Monday
  • West Brom have enjoyed just one victory from their previous 11 top-flight Monday games away from home

Conclusion

Although it has been a tough start to the season for Leicester, the Foxes’ have been putting on some impressive performances and coupled with there record at home, Leicester will feel they have a real chance of stealing three points from a struggling West Brom side.

With Jamie Vardy up and scoring already this season and with West Brom’s last clean sheet coming in early September. On paper, a Leicester win to nil looks like a good bet.

Verdict: Leicester to win to nil

Best Odds: 21/10
