Best Odds: 7/4

Still in search of their first Premier League victory under Frank Lampard, Chelsea will make the trip to Carrow Road on Saturday lunchtime.

Norwich City

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, although Norwich may have opened their Premier League return with an unenviable trip to Liverpool, the Canneries find their confidence at a high and will be boosted by their eye-catching display over the weekend. Picking up a 3-1 win at home against Newcastle and continuing to shine in the final third, Daniel Farke’s side have their sights firmly set on extending their top-flight status this year. One man who has certainly carried on his form from last season is leading goalscorer and attacking talisman, Teemu Puki. Bagging a hat-trick against Steve Bruce’s men on Saturday, the Finland international already has four goals in his opening two appearances and also clinched the Championship Golden Boot with 29 goals in the 2018/2019 campaign. If Norwich are to build off of their dominant display over the weekend and pull off a surprise victory against Chelsea, then they will be looking to carry on their displays at Carrow Road. Norwich are unbeaten in their last 11 competitive matches on home soil, a run that stems back to the 5th of January.

Team News

Norwich midfielder Ibrahim Amadou could be in contention to play for the first time since his loan move from Sevilla on the eve of the season. Josip Drmic and long-term absentees Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann are not expected to be involved.

Chelsea

As for the visitors, while the mood in Chelsea’s camp would have been at a high following Frank Lampard’s arrival over the summer, the Blues have struggled at the start of the new season. Along with suffering penalties defeat against Liverpool in the Super Cup last week, the former England midfielder also saw his side manage to scrape a 1-1 draw against Leicester over the weekend, a match they were largely outplayed in during the second half. Desperate to secure a top-four return with his youthful squad, Lampard will have some growing concerns over his sides continued defensive issues. Saturday’s guests have failed to record a single clean sheet in any of their last eight appearances. Still looking for their first victory since Lampard made his return, Chelsea will know that they must also improve on their performances away from Stamford Bridge if they’re to secure Champions League football for West London next season. Including a 4-0 hammering away at Old Trafford in their opening contest, Chelsea have won just two of their last nine Premier League matches on the road.

Team News

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger hopes to feature after four months out with a knee problem. Willian returned from injury as a substitute last weekend but Callum Hudson-Odoi is still out.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Norwich are unbeaten in their last 11 matches at Carrow Road.
  • Chelsea have won just two of their last nine Premier League matches away from Stamford Bridge.
  • The Blues have also failed to win any of their last four matches across all competitions.
  • Teemu Pukki has scored four Premier League goals in his opening two matchups.
  • Chelsea have failed to record a clean sheet in any of their last eight appearances

Conclusion

Although Chelsea will undoubtedly travel to Carrow Road as the favorite, the Blues have continued to show signs of a struggle since Frank Lampard’s arrival. Yet to pick up a win and also continuing to show issues away from Stamford Bridge, something that haunted them last season, we’re backing a resurgent Norwich to be filled with confidence after their eye-catching victory over Newcastle in East Anglia last weekend.

Verdict: Norwich draw no bet

Best Odds: 7/4
