Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica will face each other in the UEFA Champions League this week. The Group H match between the French giants and the Portuguese powerhouse will be held at Parc des Princes in Paris and is scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain are the firm favourites to finish top of Group H in the UEFA Champions League this season. The defending Ligue 1 champions are at the top of the group at the moment with seven points from three matches, level on points with second-placed Benfica.

PSG will head into the match against Benfica at Parc des Princes in Paris on the back of a goalless draw with Reims away from home in Ligue 1. It followed a 1-1 draw with Benfica away from home in the UEFA Champions League.

Christophe Galtier’s side are at the top of the Ligue 1 table at the moment with 26 points from 10 matches, just a point above second-placed Lorient. Things are going well for PSG so far this season, and they will be confident of picking up all three points against Benfica this week.

PSG will be without Argentina international forward Lionel Messi for the match against Benfica. The former Barcelona star has a calf injury that he suffered against Benfica in Portugal last weekend. Presnel Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes and Renato Sanches will also miss the game.

Many would have expected Juventus to finish second or even top of UEFA Champions League Group H this season. However, it is Benfica who appear to be the favourites for the runners-up spot. The Portuguese giants are level on seven points from three matches with group leaders PSG and as many as four points above third-placed Juventus.

Benfica will head into the match against PSG at Parc des Princes in Paris on the back of a 4-2 victory over Rio Ave in the Portuguese league. It allowed a 1-1 draw with PSG at home in the UEFA Champions League.

Roger Schmidt’s finished third in the Primeira Liga last season and are doing extremely well at the moment. Benfica are currently at the top of the standings with 25 points from nine matches, three points above second-placed FC Porto and six points clear of third-placed Sporting Braga.
