Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon will lock horns with each other in Ligue 1 this coming weekend. The match between Luis Enrique’s side and Pierre Sage’s team will be held at Parc des Princes and is scheduled to kick off at 8 pm UK time on Sunday.

Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain are the biggest club in France and tend to win the domestic league title season after season. PSG won the Ligue 1 title last season, and it is only a matter of time before they become the champions of France again.

PSG are at the top of the Ligue 1 table at the moment with 63 points from 28 matches. They are as many as 10 points clear of second-placed Brest, who have played 29 games. AS Monaco in third are on 52 points from 28 games.

Luis Enrique’s side will take on Barcelona in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday evening before facing Lyon in Ligue 1 next weekend. PSG went down 3-2 to Barcelona at home in the first leg of the tie last weekend. It came after a 1-1 draw with Clermont Foot at home in the league.

Lee Kang-in, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz will be the three midfielders. Ousmane Dembele, Marco Asensio and Kylian Mbappe will be the three forwards.

Lyon

Lyon are one of the biggest clubs in France, and they will be disappointed with how the season has panned out for them. Lyon were expected at least challenge for the Ligue 1 title, but they are not even going to end up in the UEFA Champions League places in the league table.

Pierre Sage’s side are as low as seventh in the Ligue 1 table at the moment with 41 points from 29 matches. Lyon are as many as 11 points behind AS Monaco, who are currently third, and are two points behind Lens, who are sixth and occupy the final European place in the league table.

Lyon, who finished seventh in the Ligue 1 table last season, will head into the match against Paris Saint-Germain on the back of a 4-3 victory over Brest at home in the league. It came after a 3-1 victory over Nantes on the road in Ligue, which followed a 3-0 success over Valenciennes in front of their fans.

Anthony Lopez will be ine goal for Lyon and will have Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Clinton Mata, Jake O’Brien and Henrique Silva in defence. Maxence Caqueret, Nemanja Matic and  Corentin Tolisso will be the three midfielders. Malick Fofana, Alexandre Lacazette and Said Benrahma will be the three forwards.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Paris Saint-Germain have lost just one Ligue 1 match all season.
  • Lyon have conceded 45 goals in 29 Ligue 1 matches this season.
  • Kylian Mbappe has scored 24 goals and given 6 assists in 26 Ligue 1 games for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
