One of the biggest games of the season will go down tomorrow night when Real Madrid host Bayern Munich in their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg. Zinedine Zidane’s side hold a 2-1 advantage from the first leg in Germany, and now, they’re on the verge of reaching their third straight Champions League final as they attempt to win the trophy three years in a row – but Bayern are more than capable of spoiling their party.

Real Madrid

Barcelona may be the Champions of Spain, but Real Madrid once again have the chance to go one better and become Champions of Europe for the third year in a row. That’s an utterly stupendous accomplishment and regardless of whether it’s Roma or Liverpool, Real will have their eyes firmly set on making it to the final.

Team News

Dani Carvajal will miss out through injury but Isco is expected to play some part in the game.

Bayern Munich

While they may have the Bundesliga wrapped up, Bayern will want to send their iconic manager off with one more moment in the spotlight in the UEFA Champions League. Alas, they’ve got their backs firmly positioned against the wall, but in a lot of ways the pressure is already off them. If they can make this comeback happen, it’ll go down in history.

Team News

Arjen Robben is out, but Martinez and Alaba are both expected to return.

Factors to Consider

  • No team in the history of the competition has ever overturned a 2-1 home first-leg defeat in the Champions League.
  • Real Madrid have never been knocked out of the Champions League under Zidane.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has scored nine goals against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
  • No player has been involved in more goals for Bayern in the Champions League this season than Joshua Kimmich.
  • Real have lost just one of their last six competitive games against Bayern.

Conclusion

Bayern will probably score first as they’re going to be much more urgent out of the two, but we can see Real running away with it late on. We’ll go for a 3-1 win for Madrid as Bayern commit too many men forward, making it 5-2 on aggregate.

Prediction: Real Madrid win

Best Odds: 23/20
