Real Madrid are on the verge of once again entering the UEFA Champions League semi-final stage, and their consistency in Europe over the last few years really does need to be admired. The Spanish giants have firmly established themselves as one of, if not the one and only biggest club in world football and they deserve every accolade thrown at them. With that being said, seeing off the challenge of Juventus once again isn’t going to be an easy task.

Real Madrid

Real enter this game with a 3-0 aggregate advantage, and it’s starting to feel like the UCL really is going to be their priority from now until the end of the season. Their title defence over in La Liga has gone horrifically poorly, and at this stage, it seems like just a matter of time until bitter rivals Barcelona take their crown. Still, the Champions League is a whole different matter, and they’ll want to prove that this is still their competition to lose.

Team News

Sergio Ramos will be unavailable through suspension, with Vallejo and Nacho also being doubts through injury.

Juventus

The Old Lady have been incredibly unfortunate in recent years, getting to the final of the Champions League twice only to fall at the feet of Spanish royalty. Their first leg defeat at the hands of Madrid would undoubtedly of hurt them in more ways than one, but they need to do their best to put that to one side for the time being. If they can go out there and really bully and frustrate Real from the word go, we could be in for a fun encounter.

Team News

Dybala’s suspension will be a bit blow for Juve, but the returns of Benatia and Pjanic will give the visitors hope.

Factors to Consider

  • Real Madrid have lost just once in their last 15 games in all competitions.
  • Juventus have lost just once in their last 27 games in all competitions – against Real.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 14 UCL goals this season, more than any other player.
  • Madrid have kept two clean sheets in their last six games, meanwhile, Juve have three.
  • Juventus have scored 11 goals in their last six games, whereas Real have scored 17.

Conclusion

Logic dictates that the 3-0 scoreline will be too much for Juve to overcome, and while we agree with that, we still think that they’ll put up a fight. They know that they’ll need to move forward with some meaning from the first whistle to the last, and with that in mind, we’re predicting an eventful 2-2 draw.

Prediction: Draw
