Real Mallorca and Barcelona will face each other in La Liga this weekend. The match will be held at Visit Mallorca Estadi and is scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time on Saturday.

Real Mallorca

Real Mallorca were involved in a relegation battle in La Liga for much of last season, but things are looking better for them so far this campaign. Much much better. Mallorca finished 16h in the standings last season, but they are 10th in the La Liga table at the moment with eight points from six matches.

Javier Aguirre’s side are five points behind fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao and four points above the bottom three. Mallorca will head into the match against former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Barcelona on the back of a 1-0 win against Almeria at home. It followed a 4-1 hammering at the hands of defending Spanish and European champions Madrid away from home at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the league.

Team News:

Pablo Maffeo, Copete, Antonio Sanchez and Vedat Muriqi all will start for Real Mallorca against Barcelona.

Barcelona

Barcelona are getting back to where their fans would like to see them and are genuine contenders for the La Liga title this season. Like they should. The Blaugrana endured a very tough season in 2021-22, but club legend and current head coach Xavi has transformed the team, who are playing wonderful football and are winning matches.

The Catalan giants are second in the La Liga table at the moment with 16 points from six matches, just two points behind defending champions and bitter rivals Real Madrid. Barcelona will head into the match against Real Mallorca on the back of a 3-0 victory over Elche at Camp Nou in La Liga. It followed a 2-0 defeat at the hands of defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich away from home at the Allianz Arena in the UEFA Champions League.

Team News:

Robert Lewandowski will continue to lead the line for Barcelona and will be expected to bang in a goal or two. Or three. Frenkie de Jong, Ousmane Dembele and Memphis Depay will start, but Jules Kounde is injured.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Barcelona have scored 18 goals in 6 La Liga matches.
  • Barcelona have conceded 1 goal in 6 La Liga matches.
  • Real Mallorca have won 2 of their last 5 La Liga games.
  • Real Mallorca have conceded 7 goals in 6 La Liga games.
  • Robert Lewandowski has scored 8 goals and given 2 assists in 6 La Liga games.

Conclusion

Real Mallorca will not be easy pushovers, and playing at home will also give the players a good deal of encouragement. However, Barcelona are a far superior team, and it is really hard to see them slip up. Expect an easy and comfortable win for Xavi’s team.

Prediction: Barcelona to win 3-0

Best Odds: 15/2
