Sweden and Estonia will lock horns with each other next weekend. The UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F match between Janne Andersson’s side and Thomas Häberli’s side will be held at the Friends Arena in Solna and is scheduled to kick off at 5pm UK time next Sunday.

Sweden

Sweden are a major force in European football and are expected to do well in qualifying. They are expected at least come close to qualifying for major competitions, which is why their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F campaign has been such a disappointment.

The Blue and Yellow are not going to qualify for the the UEFA Euro 2024 finals. Sweden are third in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F at the moment with seven points from six matches. Belgium and Austria have already qualified from the group with 17 and 16 points respectively.

Sweden kicked off their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F with a 3-0 defeat to Belgium in Solna. They bounced back with a 5-0 hammering of Azerbaijan at home before going down 2-0 to Austria in Vienna. Sweden hammered Estonia 5-0 in their qualifying match before going down 3-1 to Austria in front of their own fans and then drawing 1-1 with Belgium in Brussels.

Team News:

Sweden have a very strong squad for the match against Estonia. Robin Olsen, Viktor Johansson and Kristoffer Nordfeldt are the three goalkeepers. Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, OB star Filip Helander, Newcastle United’s Emil Krafth, Jens Cajuste of Napoli, Emil Forsberg of RB Leipzig, Nottingham Forest forward Anthony Elanga, Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski, and Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres are also part of the squad,

Estonia

Estonia are one of the smallest and weakest national football teams in Europe. They do not tend to qualify for major international competitions and do not even come close to qualifying. As harsh as it may sound, Estonia are merely there to make up the numbers.

Thomas Häberli’s side were never really going to do much of note in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F. Estonia have picked up just one point from six matches, three fewer than Azerbaijan in fourth.

Estonia kicked off their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F campaign on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Austria away from home in Linz. Then came the 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan in Baku. Since that game, Estonia have lost 3-0 to Belgium, 5-0 to Sweden and 2-0 to Azerbaijan in the qualifiers.

Team News:

Estonia will have Matvei Igonen, Karl Hein of Arsenal, Artur Pikk, Ken Kallaste, Marco Lukka, Rocco Robert Shein, Martin Vetkal and Henri Anier in their squad.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Sweden have scored 12 goals in 6 UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F matches.
  • Estonia have scored 2 goals in 6UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F matches.
  • Sweden have conceded 9 goals in 6 UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F games.
  • Estonia have conceded 18 goals in 6 UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F games.
  • Viktor Gyökeres has scored 3 goals for Sweden in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group F.

Conclusion

Sweden have a better team than Estonia and are also at home. Estonia really do not have a great footballing pedigree, and it is had to see them cause any problem whatsoever to the Swedes. It is very likely that this match will end in a big home win.
