The Premier League is all about action and entertainment, and we’re going to go out on a limb and say there will be plenty of that for you to enjoy this weekend. The top flight of English football has arguably never been better, with all twenty teams gunning for blood with just a few months remaining in the season. The game we’ll be looking at today is Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City, which should make for an interesting clash of styles between two teams with deep histories respectively.

Tottenham

A few weeks ago, Spurs were knocked out of two cup competitions in a matter of days – and all of a sudden, it seemed as if their season was falling apart. Alas, now, in the present day, some fans are suggesting they could still be in with a chance of winning the title. That should give you an insight into how crazy this game can be sometimes, especially with a team like Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino has a fantastic squad at his disposal, and if they can get everyone back to full fitness, they’ll be in with a chance.

Team News

Son is expected to start with Llorente on the bench, with Rose being tipped to feature in the starting XI. Alli, Kane and Davies are all still out.

Leicester

The up and down rollercoaster ride of a season that Leicester City have been having has been quite something. The Foxes are considered to be contenders for a Europa League spot one minute, and then a run of the mill midtable side the next. It’s pretty hard to keep up, and that’ll continue to be the case (we assume) between now and the end of the season. Leicester are often able to catch teams off guard when they take them lightly, and it’ll be intriguing to see whether or not Spurs fall into that trap.

Team News

Amartey and Albrighton have been ruled out through injury, but aside from that, Puel has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Factors to Consider

  • The game will be played at Wembley Stadium.
  • Tottenham have won three and lost three of their last six games.
  • Leicester have won one, drawn one and lost four of their last six games.
  • Tottenham have scored six goals and conceded seven in their last six games.
  • Leicester have scored seven goals and conceded 10 in their last six games.

Conclusion

Goals and all-around entertainment is what should probably be on the cards here for Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City, and that’s what we believe we’re going to get. The Foxes always seem to step up to the plate when it matters the most against the big boys, and if they want any hope of pushing for that 7th spot in the Premier League, they’ll need to put in a big performance here. Alas, Spurs can smell an unlikely title push in the air, and we think that motivation will be enough to push them over the line in this one.
