Tottenham Hotspur’s current situation isn’t ideal for the club, as they find themselves on the outside of the elite English and European clubs looking in. They aren’t fighting for the title and two of their other rivals are battling for European silverware, leaving them to worry about securing a place in the top four. Watford, on the other hand, are just waiting for the season to end.

Tottenham

Spurs are still having to look over their shoulder as Chelsea make a push for their Champions League spot, but as long as Pochettino’s side can focus on their own game as opposed to the teams around them, they should be able to confirm their position. Now, many fans will be looking at Tottenham’s star Englishmen to see if they can remain fit for the World Cup.

Team News

Winks remains out while the club will monitor Danny Rose’s fitness over the last twenty-four hours before making a final decision.

Watford

After bouncing from manager to manager many fans have long since been expecting Watford to drop back into the Championship, but it still hasn’t happened. The club continues to function well under their current regime, and while they’ve been on a bad run of form as of late, confirming survival will always have been the main priority this season.

Team News

Nathaniel Chalobah is back in training and Deulofeu should be available, but Younes Kaboul, Tom Cleverley, and Stefano Okaka aren’t expected to feature as well as Pereyra who has a groin issue.

Factors to Consider

  • Spurs are unbeaten in their last 12 games against Watford.
  • Tottenham have lost their last two home games in all competitions.
  • Christian Eriksen has been involved in eight goals in his last seven outings.
  • Watford have failed to score at all in their last seven away games.
  • The Hornets have one point from their last 10 league matches in away games.

Conclusion

Watford are just sort of going through the motions and while Tottenham have certainly had their hiccups, they’re more than good enough to see off the Hornets. We’ll go for an emphatic 4-1 win for Spurs.

Prediction: Spurs win

Best Odds: 1/6
