Prediction: Arsenal to win 2-0

Best Odds: 13/2

Bookmaker: Betfair

West Bromwich Albion and Arsenal will face each other in the Premier League this weekend. The match at The Hawthorns is slated to kick off at 8pm UK time on Saturday.

West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion are having a torrid time in the Premier League at the moment and are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season. The Baggies are second from bottom in the league table with just eight points from 16 matches.

The Baggies will head into the match against Arsenal on the back of a 5-0 hammering at the hands of fellow promoted club Leeds United at The Hawthorns. Sam Allardyce’s side had held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Anfield in the league this past weekend following a 3-0 loss at Aston Villa at home.

Team news:

Allardyce could make changes to the team that started against Leeds. Striker Charlie Austin could be included in the starting lineup, and so could defender Branislav Ivanovic.

Arsenal

Not so long ago Arsenal appeared to be in relegation battle, but Mikel Arteta’s side appear to have turned a corner. The Gunners have won their last two Premier League games and are now 13th in the standings with 20 points from 16 matches, nine points behind fourth-placed Everton, who have played 15 games.

The Gunners got the better of London rivals Chelsea 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day and edged past Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the league on Tuesday evening. Manager Arteta will be confident of his side brushing aside relegation-threatened West Brom on January 2.

Team news:

Arsenal will be without defender Gabriel after he tested positive for coronavirus. Willian is due to return to training on Thursday and could be available for the match against West Brom. Thomas Partey, though, remains on the sidelines.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Arsenal have scored 16 goals in 16 Premier League games.
  • West Brom have scored 11 goals in 16 Premier League games.
  • Arsenal have conceded 19 goals in 16 league matches.
  • West Brom have conceded 35 goals in 16 league matches.
  • Sam Allardyce recently said that Arsenal are relegation rivals for West Brom.

Conclusion

Allardyce knows how to get results against big clubs such as Arsenal, as he proved against Liverpool, but given that the North London outfit are on a high at the moment, they should get the better of the Baggies with ease.

Prediction: Arsenal to win 2-0

Best Odds: 13/2
