Arsenal striker Robin van Persie netted a hat-trick in their pulsating 5-3 London derby victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Despite leading on two separate occasions in the first-half, Chelsea gave up four second-half goals to slump to their second straight derby defeat.
Both sides wasted brilliant chances to score in the opening 10 minutes, before Frank Lampard broke the deadlock, heading home a Juan Mata cross on 13 minutes.
Just shy of the half-hour mark, Sturridge should have added a second for Chelsea as Lampard played a remarkable ball over the top of the Arsenal defence for the young striker, but the finish was poor as the former Manchester City man scuffed his shot past the far post.
Arsenal were level in the 35th minute after a lovely move started by an excellent forward pass by Aaron Ramsey to Gervinho. The Ivorian cheekily squared the ball to van Persie as Petr Cech approached, giving the striker an empty-net finish.
But they were only level for 10 minutes as centre-back John Terry bundled the ball past Wojciech Szczesny after out-muscling Per Mertesacker at a corner to give Andre Villas-Boas men the lead at the break.
Andre Santos pulled Arsenal level once more, completing the fine work of Alex Song to make it 2-2 on 49 minutes.
A moment of individual brilliance from forward Theo Walcott then had the visitors ahead, as the England international marched through the Chelsea defence, fell over, got through again and produced a powerful strike, beating Petr Cech.
Chelsea were not to be denied, with Mata firing home from long range in the 80th minute, smashing a fantastic effort towards the far post, giving Szczesny no chance.
But van Persie was to have the say, albeit by a fortunate mistake from a lacklustre Chelsea defence.
Florent Malouda played a poor pass back to Terry, and the former England captain slipped over giving van Persie a free route to goal. He rounded Cech and slotted home to make it 4-3 to the visitors.
A minute into stoppage time, Arsenal secured the three points when van Persie smashed a swerving effort past Cech to send the visiting faithful into hysteria.
