Bournemouth and Leicester City are both interested in signing Brentford defender Chris Mepham, according to the Mail Online.
However, both sides have so far failed in their approaches for the twenty-year-old with the Foxes first failing with a £10m bid before the Cherries had an offer of £12m rejected.
Leicester have already signed Johnny Evans this summer, but ongoing speculation surrounds the future of England star Harry Maguire who has been consistently linked with a switch to Manchester United, while Bournemouth are looking to bolster their squad ahead of their fourth season in the Premier League.
Mepham made his Bees debut as a substitute in a 5-1 FA Cup victory over non-league Eastleigh during the 2016/17 campaign though that was his only appearance of the season.
He played twenty-three times in all competitions last term and scored the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Sheffield United back in March, and played the entirety of Saturday’s opening day win over Rotherham United.
