Premier League duo keep eye on Shaw situation

Arsenal and Chelsea are monitoring Luke Shaw’s contract situation at Manchester United, according to the Mirror.

Having received criticism from Jose Mourinho on several occasions in the not to distant past the England international had looked set to be shipped out by Red Devils’ boss though he is now on the verge of a new deal having started five of his sides eight games so far this season.

Negotiations are not thought to have begun as of yet despite his current contract expiring at the end of next season.

He is currently earning around £80k-per-week and his proposed new terms could see that figure rise to put him in line with a number of the club’s other senior stars.

The Gunners and the Blues are keeping a close eye on the story with both likely to be in the market for a new left-back when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
