The weekend’s Premier League action gets underway at the King Power Stadium where Leicester City face leaders Liverpool in Saturday’s early kick-off.
The Foxes won a third straight game in all competitions by thumping Fleetwood Town 4-0 midweek while Jurgen Klopp’s side still haven’t conceded after edging past Brighton and Hove Albion a week ago.
The Merseyside outfit are looking to open a campaign with four straight wins for the first time since the 1990/91 season – the last time they were defending the title though they ended up finishing second to Arsenal.
They can currently be backed at 5/2 to clinch their first title in almost thirty years, with Manchester City still favourites despite them dropping points last time out.
They host Newcastle United in Saturday’s late kick-off with the visitors licking their wounds from Wednesday evening’s EFL Cup second round defeat to Championship side Nottingham Forest – their seventh loss in nine games.
Consistent
Sergio Aguero will be licking his lips ahead of the game with fourteen – which is roughly ten percent of the goals he has scored in the English top flight coming against the North East side.
Chelsea host Bournemouth, and they will be keen to avoid a repeat of last season’s clash at Stamford Bridge which ended in a 3-0 win for the Cherries while at least one of the sides to have a one hundred percent start will be dropping points as Watford take on Tottenham Hotspur at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.
Unbeaten Everton take on Huddersfield Town while Arsenal will hope to take momentum from their first win of the campaign as they travel to a Cardiff City side yet to score in the Premier League this term.
Struggling
The Bluebirds also crashed out of the EFL Cup midweek though they did manage to score a goal with Bruno Ecuele Manga grabbing a late consolation in a 3-1 home defeat to Norwich City.
Crystal Palace face Southampton at Selhurst Park while eleventh meets twelfth at the Amex Stadium, where Brighton and Hove Albion take on Fulham.
Bottom-of-the-table West Ham United are the only side in the division to have lost their first three games though they did manage to beat ten-man AFC Wimbledon in their EFL Cup second round tie midweek.
Slow start
The Hammers host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon, with the Midlands side still looking for their first league win of the campaign despite many tipping them to make a real impact on the division.
Finally Burnley, fresh from crashing out of the Europa League on Thursday evening will hope to bounce back by piling more pressure on Manchester United who are facing the prospect of a third straight league defeat – something that hasn’t happened since December 2015.
