Premier League preview: Norwich v Arsenal

In-form Arsenal travel to Carrow Road looking to build on their four-match winning streak at the expense of Norwich.

After a disastrous start to the season which saw the Gunners thrashed 8-2 by Manchester United and stumble to a 4-3 defeat at Blackburn Rovers, Arsene Wenger has restored confidence in his side.

Arsenal’s resurgence to seventh on the table, level on 19 points with sixth-placed Liverpool, has been largely due to the brilliance of Robin van Persie, who has notched up 11 goals so far in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta and Gervinho have slated in well into the side, with Arteta proving a crucial figure in Arsenal’s midfielder.

Gervinho has combined well upfront with Van Persie, notching five goals so far this season.

With his team back in form, Wenger will be looking for nothing less than three points.

But the result is anything but a formality given that Paul Lambert’s Norwich side have been impressive in their first season back in the Premier League.

Norwich drew 1-1 at Anfield against Liverpool and gave Chelsea and Manchester United a fight to the finish in their respective away losses to the two teams.

Anthony Pilkington has been a revelation in midfield this season for Norwich, pushing the Canaries forward with his penetrating runs and scoring four goals in the Premier League thus far.

Norwich have lost at home only once this season in a 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in September, and will be looking to ask questions of Arsenal’s suspect defence.

Arsenal are the better side on paper but Norwich are a plucky team and could provide a tricky test for the Gunners.
