Arsenal will be aiming to get back into the Premier League’s top four with victory over Swansea in Wales on Sunday.
The Londoners trail fourth-placed Chelsea by one point after losing 2-1 to Fulham in their last league start, but regained some confidence with a 1-0 win over Leeds in the FA Cup.
Star loan signing Thierry Henry’s goal not only helped Arsene Wenger’s side avoid a replay, but boosted their confidence ahead of a tricky trip across the Welsh border.
The full three points have been hard to wrench from Swansea at their Liberty Stadium surroundings this season, with champions Manchester United the only team to do so in a narrow 1-0 victory.
Javier Hernandez’s goal was just one of four scored by visiting clubs in the league this term, meaning Arsene Wenger’s side will be under pressure to take their chances when they are presented.
Henry did just that against Leeds at Emirates Stadium earlier in the week, but prior to the New York Red Bulls striker’s appearance off the bench, the Gunners were profligate in front of goal.
However, it is no co-incidence that Arsenal’s wastefulness came about when their deadly striker Robin van Persie was rested, with the Dutchman having scored 17 of the Gunners’ 36 goals this campaign.
Wenger has confirmed Van Persie will return for the trip, but is yet to decide if Henry will earn his first start for the club in almost five years.
Swansea have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash.
