The Premier League have set up an independent inquiry into the method by which Everton recruited Watford manager Marco Silva, with allegations being rife of the Toffees tapping Silva up. If they are found to be guilty of this then they could face a hefty fine, or even worse, they could be docked points. The Premier League have appointed lawyers in order to look into this situation, which will likely serve as quite the distraction for Everton.

We’ve seen tapping up issues being brought into the limelight before, but it’ll be interesting to see whether or not any points are indeed docked if the issue gets that far. Perhaps the most intriguing part about the whole Marco Silva situation, to casual fans, is that Watford have flourished since he left by winning all four of their Premier League games to start off the season – whereas Everton have only won one.
