Portuguese daily newspaper Record understands that an unnamed Premier League side are showing interest in Sampdoria full-back Pedro Pereira.
The 18-year-old came through the youth ranks at Benfica before moving to Italy in July 2015, and he has already managed to prove his worth in Serie A.
Pereira has so far amassed 18 league matches for the Blucerchiati and his promising showings did not go unnoticed.
It is believed that Benfica chiefs hope to bring the youngster back to Estadio da Luz, but they could face stiff competition from English Premier League.
A Premiership club are eager to recruit the talented defender at the earliest opportunity and they could soon come forward with an official proposal.
Pedro Pereira is predicted a bright future in the game and he has done well this season, making a total of nine league appearances, starting five of those games for the Blucerchiati.
