Premier League to investigate Manchester City?

The Premier League have released a statement indicating that they will investigate Manchester City if they are proven to have broken Financial Fair Play rules. Fans and media members alike have long since speculated that City could be in breach of FFP rules based purely on how much they’ve spent in recent years, and now, following recent allegations, the Premier League themselves have been forced to come out and make a statement.

“If we receive any substantiated material that suggests our rules may have been breached, or relevant information has not been disclosed, we will investigate and have a track record of doing so”.

While this could all prove to be nothing worth speaking about, the threat of Manchester City being penalised should certainly interest the clubs around them – because if they were to be given some kind of transfer ban, it could really impact them in the long run.
