Wolves had their substitutes to thank for their thrilling come-from-behind victory over Sunderland at Molineux on Saturday.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was the hero, firing the winner late on after Stephen Hunt grabbed his first goal for the club.
Sunderland had the first chances of the match when Darren Bent was put through but fired straight at Wayne Hennessey, before Bolo Zenden’s left foot shot went just wide of the post.
Kevin Doyle should have put Wolves ahead in the 16th minute but fired over after finding space eight yards out.
Kieran Richardson then hit the post with a thunderous free kick with Hennessey beaten.
Wolves took the lead five minutes into the second half when Matt Jarvis’ parried shot fell kindly to Kevin Foley who rattled the ball home.
Sunderland piled on the pressure in search of the equaliser, and Bent had a volley blocked before Danny Welbeck fired over.
But Bent eventually capitalised on a defensive mistake by Richard Stearman to fire Sunderland level in the 67th minute. A moment of hesitancy from the defender put the striker clear and he made no mistake, firing low past Hennessey.
Bent got the better of Stearman again minutes later, but fired into the side netting from inside the box.
Welbeck put Sunderland ahead 13 minutes from time, rising unmarked to head Phil Bardsley’s cross into the bottom corner from 10 yards.
But Wolves kept fighting and were rewarded for their efforts.
A goalmouth scramble eventually fell to Ronald Zubar, whose parried shot put Stephen Hunt on hand to convert from close range with nine minutes to go.
Doyle then showed great skill on the left in the final minute, and crossed for the unmarked Ebanks-Blake who fired the winner into the top corner.
