Wolves coasted effortlessly past Blackpool to register their biggest Premier League win in front of a full house at Molineux.

Mick McCarthy’s side dominated from the moment Matt Jarvis fired home inside two minutes.

Then, with Blackpool reduced to 10men following DJ Campbell’s reckless red card, the hosts added second-half goals from Jamie O’Hara and a late Sylvan Ebanks-Blake brace to seal a comfortable win against opposition who played way below the standards they have set this season.

The writing was on the wall for the visitors once Adam Hammill selflessly side- stepped a tackle to supply Jarvis on the left edge of the box with a first-time opportunity which he drilled past Richard Kingston with considerable ease.

With Blackpool already on the back foot, Kingston kept his team in it as, spectacularly, he pushed David Edwards’ 14th minute half-volley around the post before watching Hammill’s drive fly inches over his crossbar soon after.

George Elokobi’s header was then ruled out as Christophe Berra backed into the Ghanaian goalkeeper at O’Hara’s deep corner to the far post.

With Blackpool struggling to make in-roads on the Wolves’ goal, Ian Holloway was already planning a tough half-time team talk.

This would undoubtedly have been even more heated following a 43rd minute clash which saw DJ Campbell given a straight red card for violently pushing Richard Stearman in the face after the two players had competed for a high ball right in front of both managers.

Kingston was soon in action after the re-start as O’Hara strode purposefully forward to drill a low 25-yard left-foot shot past the outstretched ‘keeper to cement the hosts’ superiority nine minutes into the second half.

The one-way traffic continued as O’Hara went close with another dipping drive before, seconds later, Kevin Doyle’s precise right-wing cross was stroked home as Ebanks-Blake coasted in to add the finishing touch.

He repeated the feat in injury time to move Wolves out of the bottom three on goal difference.
